Faro || An ex-PSP police officer in his 30s, suspected of having killed his 68-year-old mother-in-law in Faro on Tuesday (March 10), turned himself into Castelo Branco’s PSP police station the following afternoon after hours on the run.

The news was reported by TVI24 but it is still unclear whether or not the man had admitted his crimes.

National media reports the former police officer fired two shotgun shots through the door of an apartment where his wife lived with her mother, killing his mother-in-law and “seriously injuring” his wife. The couple’s two children are also reported to have been injured.

Roads were blocked by police shortly after the shooting. Eye witnesses said the man, who was dressed in a camouflage suit, escaped the scene in an Audi A3.
