UPDATE Almancil: Police arrest suspected killers of young Romanian

Three men suspected of killing a young Romanian in Almancil last weekend have been arrested today (March 22) following a three-day manhunt.

The alleged murderers, aged between 21 and 26, were caught by PJ criminal police and are due to be heard in court soon.

In a statement, PJ said they suspect the men killed the 18-year-old “out of revenge after being duped by the youngster in a drug deal”.

From what police have pieced together, the men used shotguns to shoot Thomas Oros from a passing car at around 10.30pm on Saturday night (March 19).

National tabloid Correio da Manhã had revealed that Oros was a martial arts practitioner and had recently returned from France, where he has a sister. He had only been back in Portugal for a matter of days, the paper added, but when the alleged drug deal that motivated Oros’ murder took place has not been revealed.

More details are expected soon.
