HIGH WINDS dominated the final leg of the recent trans-Portugal hot air balloon race from the Alentejo to Loulé. As competitors got closer to Loulé’s municipal stadium, the air pressure increased and the Portuguese competitor Aníbal Soares and Dutchman A.J. Troost sped ahead, with Soares landing first to take the trophy home.
