THOUSANDS OF poor quality condoms purchased by the Ministry of Health were distributed in November by teams of volunteers in areas of Lisbon where prostitution is rife.
Complaints have now emerged from people whose condoms were faulty, which motivated the Bloco de Esquerda party to present a request to Health Minister, Ana Jorge, for an explanation as to why that particular brand of condoms was bought.
“We want to know if the minister was aware of the situation” said José Soeiro, a member of Bloco de Esquerda.
