The University of the Algarve’s Biomedical Science and Medicine Department is being turned into a full-blown faculty, a move which will give it “more autonomy”.
The big change is that the department’s director was previously nominated by the university rector, while now the director will be elected by the faculty.
The university has confirmed that the faculty will continue to offer a course in Biomedical Science as well as a Master’s degree course in Medicine.
