A special mini-marathon will be held this Sunday (October 17) to mark the 25th anniversary of the founding of the University of the Algarve. Among those taking part in the non-competitive race will be the current rector of the University, Adriano Pimpão. The event, covering a total of 11 kilometres, is set to begin at 10am at the Gambelas Campus. From there, competitors will pass the Penha Campus and finish in Faro city centre at Jardim Manuel Bivar. The mini-marathon will have the support of, amongst others, the Civil Governor, Faro Municipal Câmara, the Algarve Tourist Board, the Portuguese Youth Institute, the Portuguese Sports Institute and the Algarve Athletics Association.
