Rotary Club Estoi Palace International purchased the much-needed equipment

Rotary Club Estoi Palace International (RCEPI) has helped the São Brás Bombeiros in the past, purchasing oxygen tanks for them and protective clothing. RCEPI were also instrumental in purchasing a new fully-equipped ambulance for the fire station.

After the fires last summer, Estoi Rotary Club wanted to help again and contacted the Bombeiros in São Brás to see what was on their wish list. They needed new uniforms and the Rotary Club was happy to purchase these for them.

The voluntary fire brigade in São Brás was founded in 1927 after a terrible fire at a local cork factory. For 94 years, local men and women have been volunteering to put themselves on the frontline for minimal financial reward and rely on the local community to assist them.
