A team of researchers at the University of the Algarve’s Biomedicine Research Centre have published an article in scientific magazine Cells which sheds more light on Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), a grade IV astrocytoma, described as the “most common and deadly type of malignant brain tumour”. Hopes are that their research can lead to the creation of more effective treatments. As UAlg explains, these kinds of brain tumours have been treated by doctors the same way since 2005.
