Unexploded mortar shells discovered on banks of Douro

Two unexploded mortar shells have been found this morning on the south bank of the river Douro, in Avintes, Vila Nova de Gaia. It’s not clear how ‘old’ they are, as they are in what is described as ‘a good state of conservation’, but as they qualify as ‘war material’, they are going to be deactivated by a specialised team from the Navy.
