A RECORD number of 2.5 million British people are planning to leave the UK this Christmas, according to a report from Halifax travel insurance.
Around 47 per cent of these holidaymakers are going abroad to visit friends or family, the study found.
Another 26 per cent are simply trying to escape a chaotic Christmas at home and 22 per cent are fleeing from the weather. PDM travel urges anyone travelling to ensure that they are properly covered before they go on holiday, as it is estimated they will be taking 727 million pounds sterling worth of presents with them!
