All Saints Anglican Church in Almancil is helping to collect and distribute donations for the Ukrainian refugees
Over the past few weeks, we have all watched with absolute horror as the war in Ukraine has unfolded in front of our eyes.
The pictures of frightened mothers with babies in their arms pleading for help and fathers saying goodbye to their loved ones have been unbearable to watch, and all the time we have been asking, “What can we do” and “How can we help?”
Well, you can help, and you can help now, and this is how…
The Junta de Freguesia (parish council) in Almancil has the responsibility for housing, feeding, the well-being and the medical needs of the Ukrainian refugees that have been invited into the safety of our community, and they have asked All Saints Anglican Church in Almancil for their help.
The Junta urgently needs supplies to be able to care for the refugees both physically and emotionally.
All Saints Anglican Church is helping to collect and distribute donations to provide whatever help they can and to be an available local resource.
So, here is what you can do: call this number, 932 841 943, or email [email protected], and ask for a list of supplies and the details of how you can donate to the Ukraine Relief Fund that has been set up by the Church.
Then tell your friends, tell your Facebook groups, tell your neighbours, tell everyone you can what is happening and how they can help.
Thank you in advance for your generosity – we may be a small community, but we are mighty in our care for others.
