Ukrainian population of Portugal “almost doubles” in less than a month

Since Russia invaded Ukraine, Portugal’s population of Ukrainians has “almost doubled”. SEF reports that in less than a month more than 25,000 requests for temporary protection have been granted, as the wider picture sees more than four million Ukrainian refugees already in Europe. Meantime, negotiations for peace ‘continue remotely’ with very little positive feedback coming through.
