Denys Shmygal, prime minister of Ukraine, has called today on Portuguese companies to invest in the country and help rebuild after the war. Following a meeting with visiting parliamentary speaker Augusto Santos Silva, he said: “I invited Portuguese companies to invest in our country now, because the recovery of Ukraine will be the biggest project since World War II”. Ukraine expects Lisbon’s support for the country’s European integration, and has repeatedly thanked Portuguese visiting dignitaries for Portugal’s help with weaponry, military training and humanitarian support.
