The Algarve has been named the “Best Golf Destination” in Europe by UK golfing magazine Today’s Golfer, receiving nearly half (48%) of readers’ votes.
It was also crowned as the ‘Best Value’ destination due to the “quality and price relationship” of the Algarve’s golf courses.
“This is a great sign for the start of 2017,” Dora Coelho, head of the Algarve’s tourism association (ATA) enthused, adding that accolades are the “embodiment of the effort and work conducted by the Algarve tourism association (ATA) and its associates to ensure the excellence golfers expect from a destination like the Algarve”.
“It is with great pride that the Algarve receives these two awards, which are a result of the strong promotion strategy we have been developing alongside the private golf industry”, she concluded.
