UEFA gives Sporting chance

LISBON CÂMARA hosted a welcome dinner for UEFA Cup champions, CSKA Moscow, last week. CSKA Moscow beat Sporting Club de Portugal by three goals to one.

Present at the dinner were Lisbon Câmara vice president, Carmona Rodrigues, UEFA President, Lennart Johanson, Portuguese Secretary of State for Youth and Sport, Laurentino Dias, Portuguese Football Federation President, Gilberto Madaíl, and former German national team selectors, Berti Vogts and Michel Platini.

The UEFA president offered Sporting president, Dias da Cunha, a certified plaque granting the Alvalade XXI stadium the highly sought after five-star classification allowing it to host the final.
