A two-year-old girl died in Lisbon yesterday after being forgotten on the back seat of a car. The case has been passed to the Commission for the Protection of Children and Young People (CPCJ). PJ police are also investigating. Explain reports, the mother left home with her three children in the morning, dropping two at their respective schools. She then returned home “and did not realise her youngest daughter was still on the back seat”. It was only at the end of the afternoon that a call from the child’s creche queried the toddler’s absence. “It was then that the mother realised that she had left her child in the car”, writes Jornal de Notícias. The family ‘immediately transported the little girl to Hospital de Santa Maria’ but it was too late to save her.
