In separate incidents, two men were arrested in the Algarve on Tuesday (September 21) on European arrest warrants issued in Germany and Spain.
A 44-year-old man was taken into custody after being identified by GNR police following a car crash in Carvoeiro. The man is wanted in Germany for several crimes, including forgery and counterfeiting. He is due to appear before a judge at Évora’s criminal court today (Thursday).
Meanwhile, in Armação de Pêra authorities detained a 31-year-old man wanted in Spain on fraud charges. He was taken to Olhão prison and is due to be handed over to the custody of Spanish authorities.
