Two further children flagged with suspected ‘mystery hepatitis’

Another two cases potentially showing the signs of the mystery hepatitis strain affecting children a bit throughout the western world have been registered with health authorities in Portugal – albeit, like the first four children, both are developing favourably. One of the worst consequences of this still unidentified form of hepatitis is total liver failure, requiring transplants for the children concerned. To date, four children are reported to have died from this mystery strain of acute hepatitis, three of them in Indonesia.
