Two former bosses of Algarve retailers’ association ACRAL are being accused of embezzlement, to the tune of “around €150,000”. The crimes allegedly happened when the accused – former ACRAL president João Rosado and treasurer Feliciano Rito – held office between February 2009 and March 2013. The Public Prosecutor’s Office has been investigating the case for the last three years. Current president Álvaro Viegas says he hopes both “receive a fitting punishment if the accusations prove to be true”.
