Two dead, three injured in latest EN125 tragedy

Two people were killed and another three were badly injured in a head-on car crash on the Algarve’s infamous EN125 road this morning.

The accident happened just after 6am on the new Almancil bypass that links the Quatro Estradas area to the Algarve Stadium.

CMTV suggests the crash may have been caused by one of the cars trying to overtake another although the road has a solid white line which forbids overtaking.

There is little information about the victims so far, with Faro’s CDOS rescue operation command centre revealing only that the injured passengers were taken to Faro Hospital.

We will update as more information becomes available.
