SILVES CÂMARA President Isabel Soares signed a twinning protocol with the President of the Brazilian county of Aquiraz, Ritelza Cabral, in Lisbon on Sunday, November 2.

This protocol, which was signed in the presence of the Secretary of State of Portuguese Communities, António Braga, establishes the twinning between the two counties, which have similarities in their history and architecture.

Aquiraz, which is located near Fortaleza on the north eastern coast of Brazil, received some of Portugal’s first navigators more than 400 years ago.
