Well-known news anchor and journalist Judite Sousa was in the news for the worst of all reasons this weekend. Her 29-year-old son André Bessa died in tragic circumstances after being found at the bottom of a swimming pool at a country home near Vila Fresca de Azeitão. It is reported he was attending a party with friends. Police are investigating as no one appears to know how André fell into the pool in the early hours of Saturday morning. Meantime the country’s television journalism fraternity is in shock. Judite Sousa is the face of TVI’s Jornal das 8 programme. It is not known now how long she will be absent from presenting the show.
