A NEW painting holiday course is to be hosted by renowned Irish artist, Frank Clarke, this October in Praia da Luz. The course will run from October 15 to 22 at Estrela da Luz, the newest luxury holiday development from Oceânico.
Born in Dublin, Frank Clarke is one of Ireland’s best known and most sought after artists. He has taught regularly on Ireland’s national television channels as well as in the States, Sky and on worldwide networks. He has had over 20 exhibitions, with paintings in private and corporate collections worldwide, and is the author of Simply Painting. His videos and painting kits are popular and sold internationally.
Frank Clarke specialises in getting beginners to paint. His enthusiastic and endearing personality and style take the inhibition away from those who feel they can’t paint or draw. With a few simple suggestions and a brush and blank canvas, you will have a landscape in no time at all! For those who already have some painting expertise, he can increase your skill and confidence, and give tips for showing work in future.
The painting course will be held in Oceânico’s purpose built art gallery, Aura, which was opened by Frank Clarke himself during the Festival of Wild Geese celebrations in March of this year. The group taking part in the course will meet for a welcome dinner at Calabaza Restaurant on the Sunday evening.
Frank Clarke will provide his expert teaching and all art materials from Monday to Thursday (mornings), with a final review and cocktail party on the Friday, when all the work produced will be exhibited in the gallery. The price for the course alone is 330 euros. Residential bookings are available from 590 euros, including accommodation and airport transfers.
