THE THIRD edition of Motard & Car Tuning, a festival dedicated to the phenomenon of motorbike and car tuning – engine enhancement for racing – is due to take place at Parque das Cidades, the area next to the new Algarve Stadium, from September 9 to 11.
The event is being organised by the Grupo Motard de Almancil and a special themed party took place at Kadoc nightclub yesterday (September 8) to herald the beginning of the festival.
Doors open today (9) at 2pm for competitors of the bike show and owners of tuning cars and bikes, after which the exhibition itself will open. At 7pm, there will be the Picas Livres (acceleration tests) and there will also be a demonstration entitled ‘Smashing Cars’ by TT e Perícias.
But the event is not all about cars as there will also be plenty of entertainment on offer, including a performance by Banda Fénix, a striptease show and sounds from DJ Rave Party. And this is only the first night!
Saturday’s programme includes the continuation of the registration process for the bike show (ending at 2pm), after which registration begins for various categories of tuning cars. To entertain the crowds, there will be another show from ‘Smashing Cars’, Moto and Car Sexy Washing, a Super Bock hot air balloon and a model show. The national championship for dB Drag, which is a competition that rewards the person who can produce the loudest sound inside a vehicle, gets underway at 4pm, along with acceleration trials and various other car competitions. Just smell that testosterone!The evening will surely not disappoint, as there is plenty more in the way of entertainment, including performances by Íris and RCA, and another striptease show!
Sunday sees the conclusion of the dB Drag championship and the free training for the stunt riding national championship. A prize giving ceremony will begin at 6.30pm, bringing the fair to a close.
