Truckers protest against fuel increases

Portugal’s truckers syndicate ANTRAM has announced that 200 of its companies will be holding back on deliveries, as of tomorrow, in order to force the government to reduce the cost of fuel much further than at present. The syndicate says current measures are ‘purely palliative’ and will do nothing to help businesses struggling to survive. SIC television news reports that 320 trucks (20% of the merchandise fleet), due to make deliveries of food etc tomorrow, will not be doing so until something changes before midday.
