Trophy victory in Ayamonte

Olhanense were the invited guests for the 27th Antonio Concépcion Reboura Trophy game against Ayamonte (Spain).

After a shaky start, the visitors settled down and a hat-trick from centre-forward Dady plus goals from Wilson Eduardo, Yontcha and Salvador Agra ensured a comfortable 6-0 victory against the Spanish semi-professional team.

At the weekend a 1-1 draw at Quarteirense saw Rodrigo Angelo score for the home side just after half-time. Dady levelled from the penalty spot ten minutes later.

The following day, manager Daúto Faquirá rested most of his first choice players for the game against Farense in Faro. New loan signings João Gonçalves (Sporting), Fernando Alexandre (SC Braga), André Pinto and keeper Hugo Ventura (Porto) were given useful workouts.

Farense ran out 3-2 winners, with Mateus and Gerson scoring for the Olhão side.

Miguel Teixeira who played five seasons for Olhanense in the early 1990s and from 2003 to 2005 captained the Farense side.
