Triumph for São Lourenço students

ONCE AGAIN, students at São Lourenço International School have achieved outstanding results in both IGCSE, AS and A Level examinations.

This non-selective international school, located centrally in the Algarve near Almancil, has continued to increase the number of pupils entered for all external examinations and maintain the excellent results it has achieved since the school started in 1989.

In comparison to national statistics from the UK, the students at São Lourenço exceeded the percentage of passes at all levels of examinations, achieving 100 per cent pass rate at A Level, 94 per cent at AS Level and 95 per cent at IGCSE.

Some individual students deserve a special mention for outstanding success. At IGCSE level, Edward Baker gained six A*/A grades and Caitlin Docker achieved five A*/A grades. At A Level, Amy Packham was awarded A grades in three subjects. Amy, along with her fellow graduates, will be continuing their studies in colleges and universities here in Portugal and in the UK.

Mrs Durham, the Acting Head Teacher of the school, was delighted with the examination results and offered her congratulations to the students and her thanks to the staff for their continued hard work and dedication.
