International choreographers from Kale dance company unveil new show
A new dance show entitled ‘Triplo’ and created by three choreographers from France, Spain and Portugal will be performed on Saturday, May 7 at the Carlos do Carmo auditorium in Lagoa.
Brought to life by the Kale Dance Company as part of the Regards Croisés crossborder project – which also features the Malandain Ballet Biarritz and La Fundicion Bilbao, the show is the brainchild of three choreographers: Daniela Cruz (Portugal), a growing name in Portugal’s contemporary dance scene; Hamid Ben Mahi (France), who will showcase a new French vision of urban dance; and Igor Calonge (Spain), who will bring to the show his artistic interdisciplinary style of dance.
The Kale Dance Company is described on its website as “an empowering platform for interpretation, exposing young performers to choreographers with different physical and artistic languages with their stimuli and conceptions of dance.”
The ‘Triplo’ show will be performed by seven young dancers: Mariana Malojo, Filipa Prata, Denise Sá, Mafalda Cardoso, Luis Claro, Michal Wilk, and Isabela Rochael.
Tickets cost €8 and can be purchased online at www.ticketline.sapo.pt or at Fnac, Worten and the ticket offices at the auditorium, the São José convent and Lagoa’s Balcão Único. A 20% discount is available for holders of Lagoa’s cultural passport, social card and Rota do Petisco 2021 passport.
