Around 60 children enjoyed a fun-filled day during a Halloween event at Quinta Shopping on October 30, organised by children’s charity ACCA.
“It was a success,” ACCA president Wanda Crawford told the Resident. “The children had a lot of fun trick-or-treating at Quinta Shopping and engaging in activities such as cake decorating, face painting or ‘pin the nose on the witch’.”
The event also helped raise €510 for ACCA’s efforts to help children in need across the Algarve, although Wanda says this is not the main goal of the event.
“It is mainly to provide a fun day for the children and show people that we are active and giving something back to the community,” she told us.
ACCA is now focusing on the future, with two big events planned for Saturday, November 26.
First up is the ACCA Christmas Market, which will take place at the Algarve Tennis & Fitness Club at Villas & Vacations in Almancil, from 11am to 5pm.
“This event attracts a generous and keen audience of shoppers, looking for luxury Christmas gifts,” organisers say, adding that there will be “much on offer, from artisan foods to fashionable goods, home accessories and original artworks”.
There will also be live entertainment, including a Kiss FM DJ, as well as bouncy castles, Christmas carols and “delicious eats and warming drinks”.
Stall reservations are open and early booking is highly recommended due to “high demand and limited space”.
ACCA will also host its annual charity gala event on the same day, entitled ‘Denim and Diamonds Gala’. It will be held at Sensai restaurant at Anantara Vilamoura, with cocktails being served at 7pm, dinner beginning at 8.30pm and the after-party starting at 11pm.
According to organisers, the dress code is “denim pants and dinner jacket” for gentlemen and “dress to impress mix denim with diamonds or glitz” for ladies.
Tickets cost €150 per person. Last year’s event raised €30,000 for charity.
