Tribute to an influential musician

A tribute concert in memory of Portuguese ‘revolution’ singer Zeca Afonso will be held today (Friday) at Quinta dos Vales, Estombar, from 9pm.

Zeca Afonso was a renowned Portuguese musician and poet who shared an encouraging vision throughout the revolution and created music that is still played today.

Several Algarve musicians will pay tribute with a performance that will include a selection of Zeca’s songs, including Eles comem tudo e não deixam nada (They eat everything and leave nothing), A morte saiu à rua num dia assim (Death is on the street on a day like this) and also his most romantic song, O meu benzinho (My little love).

Tickets to the concert will cost €18 and guests will receive a free first glass of wine.
