Porches International Rotary Club will be holding another Christmas Market at Galeria Arte Algarve in Lagoa – and the popular “Tree of Love” is set to return, bringing added cheer to children in need.
This year, the market – to be held over the weekend of November 23 and 24 – is in aid of the Algarve Oncology Association.
But visitors are also encouraged to bring with them a present to put under the ‘Tree of Love’, in aid of two children’s homes in the western Algarve.
“Visitors from last year will remember emotional scenes when children from a nearby home arrived by bus to pick up their gifts. They didn’t simply say thank you, they sang it, with some wonderful Christmas carols,” said organisers. Gifts should be labelled clearly for a boy or for a girl, and for under-10s or 10-plus.
Last year’s market was a success, with over 2,000 people attending and buying original gift ideas in time for Christmas.
Anyone keen to participate in the Christmas market should get in touch with the Rotary Club to book their stall.
