SBC International Cinemas in Faro made a lot of children very happy recently with a very special offer – the chance to be the first youngsters to see the film Spy Kids 3 in fabulous 3D! But what made the special offer even more special is that all the money the kids paid to see the advance showing was donated to children in need. In total, almost 400 euros was given to the ACCA, the charity that helps a wide range of children throughout the Algarve, at a presentation on Sunday April 25.
Ana Marques from SBC Cinema, handed over the cheque to ACCA committee members, Susanne Lastein Guerra and Wanda Crawford Johnson, who were taking a group of youngsters from a local home to see another great film. Lisa McNamara, director of SBC Cinema, has generously offered 10 free tickets per month to the ACCA so that children living in homes get at least one treat a month.
The ACCA would like to say a big thank you to Lisa, Ana and SBC, Charles May, Barringtons and The Resident for their support and ideas. For more information about the ACCA, please call Jane Oliphant on 919 383 593.
