Le Marquis Restaurant at Monte da Palhagueira Village, Gorjões, has taken on a fresh lease of life with menus offering sophisticated dining at surprisingly sensible prices.
New proprietors, Vincent van Dijk and Helma van Rossum have made thoughtful alterations to the 18th century building, improving facilities for guests and the revitalised premises have been renamed Le Marquis as a reminder of the successful restaurants run by the couple in the Netherlands, as well as in Portugal.
The lunchtime set menu, two-courses for 15.95 euros, three-courses for 19.95 euros, includes an imaginative list of appetising dishes. Choose from mouth-watering starters followed by one of the five choices from the sumptuous main course menu.
The restaurant serves one of the best Sunday roast lunches in the Algarve providing a choice of several starters, the traditional main courses and all served with homemade Yorkshire puddings and all the trimmings. If you still have room left then pick from one of the delicious homemade desserts created by Chef Vincent.
In the evening, a wider choice of dishes are available made using the freshest ingredients and also presented in a fabulous way.
Vegetarians are catered for and meals can be ordered in advance from one of numerous options at both lunch and dinner.
To avoid disappointment, book your table for the special Easter Sunday lunch with an Egg Hunt for the kids.
The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner throughout the week, with dinner served from Tuesday until Saturday, and lunch between Wednesday and Sunday. It also caters for weddings, birthdays and wine tastings.
