Odeleite parish council is organising two competitions to recreate the traditions of a typical Algarvian village.
Os Maios da Minha Aldeia event aims to restore and promote an old tradition whereby Maios, handmade life size rag dolls, are placed on the doorsteps of houses in the village, depicting aspects of day life.
In the Vila Florida (Village in Bloom) competition, participants have the chance to win money prizes for the best decorated window sills, balconies, courtyards and gardens with flowers.
