A freak tractor accident in Portalegre saw 10 people hurt yesterday (Wednesday), four of them seriously.
The accident happened when 25 agricultural workers were being towed in a trailer behind the tractor, just before lunchtime.
Images show the tractor flipped 180º, causing the trailer to tip, sending its passengers flying.
All the injured had to be taken to hospital.
This was just the latest in what seems to be a seemingly endless litany of tractor accidents up and down the country – but the first to have involved so many victims.
The accident took place in the borough of Sousel, and was supported by rescue workers from five local fire stations, the GNR and one SIV (immediate life support) unit.
