SINTRA TOY Museum is hosting an exhibition themed Brinquedos dos anos 60 … até aos nossos dias, the toys from the sixties to the present, until October.
The initiative aims to show children the difference between their toys and the ones their parents and grandparents played with. The exhibition shows a wide range of toys, from Barbie, Nancy, Tucha, Sindy or Action Man to handmade old toys in wood and metal, cars with pedals and tricycles.
Lego and Play Mobil constructions as well as animated images and cartoons are also part of this exhibit.
The Fundação Arbués Moreira, which also runs the Museu do Brinquedo de Sintra, the toy museum, is the owner of the objects being used at the exhibition.
The museum opens everyday from Tuesdays to Sundays, between 10m and 6pm, the last entrance being allowed at 5.30pm. Tickets cost four euros for adults and two euros for children and the over 65s. Public schools are offered a special price of 1.5 euros and groups with a minimum of 10 children are offered a free ticket for one grown-up to escort them.
