As many as 13,000 Portuguese drivers will be affected by the global Toyota recall of various vehicles for technical glitches – none of which, to date, seem to have resulted in any accidents. The vehicles concerned here include Hilux vans, Yaris cars, and Rav4 and Urban Cruiser jeeps. António Costa, Toyota’s PR man for Portugal, said 13,000 is the minimum number of drivers due to receive recall notices. In global terms, 6.3 million vehicles have been affected.
