Visitors to Lagos or Guia this weekend will have the opportunity to taste and purchase the popular Easter cake Folar at events to celebrate the holiday season.
A tasting of the cinnamon flavoured cake is being held at the car park of the Guia Polidesportivo on Sunday from 4pm, where a giant Folar will be prepared and a slice offered to visitors to the ninth Prova do Folar.
In Lagos council, an entertainment programme to mark Easter has been organised by the Câmara and includes a concert by the Algarve Orchestra at the city’s cultural centre tomorrow (Saturday) at 9.30pm and a fair to celebrate traditional sweets and cakes such as the Folar and local handicrafts.
The free-to-enter Feira do Folar e Artesanato is being held at the cultural centre of Barão de São João until Sunday, opening each day at 3pm.
