Tourists in trouble

TWO BRITISH tourists were allegedly detained by Portimão’s PSP police in the early hours of Monday morning at the Ireland’s Eye pub in Praia da Rocha.

According to national newspaper Correio da Manhã (CM), the two individuals, aged 57 and 58, attempted to pay for drinks at the bar with two false 50 euro notes. “We noticed straight away that the notes were false so we kept the individuals in the bar and handed them over to the police around 2.30am,” the bar owner told CM.

At the time The Resident went to press, no one was available from Portimão’s PSP department to comment.
