Tourist revenue 8% off hitting 2027 target of €27 billion

President of the Portuguese tourist board (Turismo de Portugal), Carlos Abade, said today that the sector is, in 2024, 7.6% away from achieving the target of €27 billion in revenue set for 2027. Admitting that one can’t make predictions on January 15 for the year that has just begun, Abade stressed that the tourism sector in Portugal is “particularly competitive” and has grown at a faster rate than the world average.”There’s no reason to think that it won’t be exactly the same in 2024″, he told a lunch organised by the Hotel Association of Portugal (AHP) in Lisbon.
