Tourism security conference

GLOBALISATION AND security impacts on the tourist industry will be discussed at a conference on February 15, at the Arade Auditorium in the ExpoArade building in Portimão.

The debate is being organised by the Associação Sindical dos Funcionários de Investigação Criminal, the criminal investigation trade union and Portimão Câmara. The discussion will be divided into two topics: Prevention of risks in the criminal perspective and security and tourism.

The speakers, among them the Assistant Director of Robbery for the Judicial Police, Teófilo Santiago, Mendes Bota, the president of the Parliamentary Commission for Tourism and British Consul Bill Henderson, will analyse the importance of security news bulletins, including terrorism and crime risks, during busy tourist periods.

The conference is free, anyone can attend and begins at 9.30am.
