Algarve hotels gained more than 300,000 overnight stays between January and June this year compared to the same period in 2012, and registered a total of 5.8 million overnight stays during this period. Data from the statistics institute INE reveals that in June alone the region received 1.8 million overnight stays, tourists amounted to 386,000 and profits reached €72.8 million. June also registered a 57% occupancy rate and an average stay period of 4.7 nights.
