Tourism for disabled

A study is being carried out into hotel facilities in the Algarve for people with reduced mobility, particularly wheelchair users.

It is being conducted by the Algarve tourism authority, ERTA, and the Associação Salvador, an organisation that promotes the improvement of accessibility and better quality of life for people with reduced mobility.

The vice-president of the ERTA, António Almeida Pires, said: “We have contacted various public and private organisations to create a mark that distinguishes the Algarve as an ideal destination for tourists with special needs.”
