HOTEL OCCUPANCY in the Algarve dropped by more than 10 per cent during November in comparison to the same period in 2007.

Statistics from the Algarve hotel and resorts association (AHETA) for November revealed that hotel occupancy was at 36.3 per cent in the region with the largest decrease found in Albufeira with a drop of 23.5 per cent in comparison to November 2007.

The British still make up the majority of those holidaying in the Algarve, accounting for 45.6 per cent of those staying in the region last month.
