The importance of respecting nature and doing our best to preserve it is the driving theme of a new awareness campaign launched by the Algarve tourism board (RTA).
Entitled ‘Algarve, Bonito por Natureza’, it aims to “change attitudes” and encourage “more conscious and responsible behaviours” among residents and tourists alike when they are enjoying the region’s beaches, walking its trails or simply exploring its wildlife.
“In the midst of this pandemic, we have to prepare for a more promising future,” says Algarve tourism boss João Fernandes.
“This campaign aims to explain that it is up to each and every one of us to take care of our natural heritage, which is very rich and unique,” he adds.
As the tourism board stresses, nature tourism is a niche that has been growing considerably in the Algarve, with more and more nature lovers seeking the region every year.
The campaign will be promoted online via Facebook, Instagram and YouTube until the end of the month.
