Tornado in Vila do Conde destroys cattle barns

Three cattle barns were destroyed on Sunday morning as the bad weather up north that has seen tourists delighting snow on Serra da Estrela brought a tornado to the rural area of Vila do Conde. Within minutes, three barns had lost their roofs, while elsewhere houses were also damaged. Saying they had “never seen anything like it”, locals are now hoping for help from the authorities to fix the damage.
