A new martial arts training centre, Centro de Treinos de Portimão, situated at Lote 3 (basement), Rua Frei Santos Sousa, is opening its doors at 7pm this Monday evening.
Based at the facility are the Portimão Taekwondo Club, Portimão Boxing School, the Portuguese Wrestling Association, Top Team-Muay Thai and Commando Krav Maga, a combat survival technique whose only two certified instructors are teaching here.
All the above disciplines offer courses to adults and children up to international standard – Top Team-Muay Thai, for example, has produced several European and World Champions in the past – but are equally happy to instil basic self-defence techniques.
The centre hopes to integrate itself within the community in Portimão and demonstrate that respect and integrity are not only fundamental in the making of champions but also in other walks of life.
