Porto-based Romanian pianist Constantin Sandu, considered one of the best in Portugal, is returning to the Algarve for two concerts this month at Os Agostos country estate near Bordeira.
On March 9, Constantin will play Mozart’s Fantasia and Ronda “Alla Turca”, Beethoven’s Pathetique Sonata, three waltzes by Chopin and Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata. On March 10, Constantine will play three preludes by Gershwin, studies and preludes by Rachmaninov and Beethoven’s Appassionata Sonata.
The pianist was born in Bucharest on New Year’s day 1964 and has been resident in Portugal since 1991. He started having piano lessons when he was seven and made his first appearance with an orchestra when he was 14.
Constantin has developed an intensive international and acclaimed concert career spanning three decades.
Constantin teaches piano at the Escola Superior de Música e das Artes do Espectáculo in Porto where he has given several masterclasses.
The concerts begin at 7pm and are organised by the Amigos de Música. Doors at Os Agostos open at 6pm when drinks and canapés will be served. Entry costs €25.
