ALGARVE RESTAURANTS are leading the list of Portuguese establishments classified by the Michelin Guide, the most influential reference book in the gastronomy industry.

The Red Guide is keeping unchanged the list of Portuguese restaurants for its 2008 edition. Restaurant Vila Joya, in Albufeira, has kept the best classification in the country with two stars, followed by eight restaurants with one star:

Amadeus, Henrique Leis and São Gabriel in Almancil, Willie’s in Vilamoura, Eleven in Lisbon, Fortaleza do Guincho and Porto de Santa Maria in Guincho-Cascais and Quinta das Lágrimas in Coimbra.
