Alex Marshall MBE, one of the world’s top bowlers, recently visited the Algarve to promote the ever-popular sport both here and back in the UK. Alex, holder of five Commonwealth Gold Medals as well as having achieved unparalleled success at numerous World Championships, was most impressed with the quality of the greens in the East Algarve.
During his visit, he joined members of Pedras Lawn Bowls Club, Cabanas de Tavira and a touring team from Ardrossan (North Ayrshire coast in south-western Scotland) on the immaculate lawn at the Pedras da Rainha Resort.
Alex’s visit was organised through David Reilly of Algarve Bowls and the six-time Indoor World Singles Champion hopes to return in the near future with other groups from the UK. www.algarvebowls.com
